Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Metimo collects, why, and what you can do about it. Metimo helps you keep track of your hobbies and interests, plan sessions and find events with friends.
1. Who we are
Metimo is run by [Company name] Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number [number]), [registered address]. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question, write to privacy@metimo.app.
2. What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and photo (from Google if you sign in with Google).
- What you add: hobbies and interests, activities and places, plans, sessions with their notes and photos, and your Library.
- Friends: your friends, friend requests and plan invitations, and your replies to them.
- Location: the city and radius you choose. If you allow browser location, we use it only to set your area — we never store or show your exact location to others.
- Consents: what you agreed to (Terms, Privacy Policy, emails, cookies) and when.
- Technical data: cookies (see section 7) and basic logs needed to keep the service secure.
3. Why we use it
- To provide Metimo — your hobbies, plans, calendar, friends and invitations (performance of our contract with you).
- To recommend events and suggest related interests, and to keep the service safe and working (our legitimate interests).
- To send optional emails and set optional cookies — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. AI features
Recommendations and "Paste a link" use an AI model from a third-party provider ([provider name]). We send it only de-identified data — your interests, city and activity history, without your name or contact details. For "Paste a link" and Library links we send only the content of the page you link to. Your session notes and photos are never sent to the AI model.
5. Events and their sources
Events in Metimo come from third-party sources (for example open activity data feeds and event listing services); each event shows its source. When you sign up for an event you go to the organizer's website, and their own privacy policy applies there. We don't pass your details to organizers.
6. Who can see your data
- Your notes, photos, sessions and Library are private to you.
- Friends see that you're going to an event or plan in "Who's going" — you can turn this off in Settings → Privacy. People in the same plan always see each other.
- Someone who opens your plan invite link sees your first name and photo and the number of people going — not the other participants.
- Service providers that host and run Metimo for us (hosting, email delivery, the AI provider — [list of processors]) process data only on our instructions.
7. Cookies
We use necessary cookies to make Metimo work — for example to keep you signed in. Analytics and preference cookies are used only if you allow them; until you choose, only necessary cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time in Settings or here: .
8. Emails
- Sign-in links, data export and account deletion emails are always sent — they are part of the service.
- Reminders, invitations and friend requests — you choose them in Settings → Notifications.
- News, tips and "Notify me when Metimo launches here" — only if you opt in. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and everything you added, including photos, within [30] days, including from backups.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can:
- Get a copy of your data. An in-app export is coming; until then, email privacy@metimo.app and we'll send it to you.
- Correct it — most of it you can edit in the app.
- Delete it — in Settings → Delete account. This can't be undone.
- Withdraw consent for emails and cookies in Settings, and object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk — though we'd like the chance to help first.
11. Age
Metimo is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data about anyone younger.
12. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and tell you about important changes in the app or by email. Questions: privacy@metimo.app. See also our Terms.
